Pull-Apart Pizza Bread

Whilst I am lounging in some post-birthday bliss take a look at today’s recipe! The only thing that could make pizza more delicious, in my humble opinion is to add more bread. And luckily that’s easily accomplished. Even better, it’s as easy to make as it is delicious!

(Adapted from Creme de la Crumb)
Ingredients:

1 round boule or oval loaf with a firm crust
1 cup of shredded mozzarella
1/4 cup of pepperoni slices cut in half
1/4 cup of butter
1 teaspoon of thyme
1/2 teaspoon of oregon
1/2 teaspoon of basil
1/4 cup of butter
marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 400 F. Use a bread knife to score the bread deeply, but don’t cut all the way through. You should have a checkerboard pattern of 1″ chunks. Gently stuff the mozzarella into all the spaces in the bread (as deeply down as you can get it). Then insert the pepperoni slices.

In a small saucepan melt the butter and whisk in the herbs. Brush (or lightly pour) the mixture all over the bread. Wrap the bread in foil and bake for 15-20 minutes.

This bread is best served warm, in my opinion!

I’d be happy if I could always have this permanently in the oven!

If only bloggers had already invented smell-o-blog for this.
